Professor Xavier
Name: Professor Charles Xavier
Professor Xavier, or Professor X as some call him, is the most powerful mutant telepath on Earth. He can communicate over vast distances with his mind, and take control of the weak willed if he has to. Xavier is also the founder of the X-Men - a group of mutants he formed to combat evil. But the X-Men also have a higher purpose, to serve as an example that mutants and humans can live together in peace.
While growing up, he formed a strong friendship with another mutant known as Erik Lensherr. Eventually the two men had a falling out over how to deal with humanity's distrust of mutants - Xavier being far too much a pacifist for Lensherr's tastes. Since that time Erik Lensherr has grown to become the X-Mens's most feared enemy, Magneto.
Xavier takes a great deal of pride in his X-Men. They have consistently proven that his dream is possible. Mutants and humans can learn to understand one another; and that is something Xavier believes is worth fighting for.
