Magneto

Magneto's start in life couldn't have been worse. He was born in Poland just before WWII. When the Nazis invaded Poland, the young Erik Lehnsherr and his parents were sent to Auschwitz. Erik was the only member of his family to survive the war. During that time, he witnessed the brutality that humans could bring on minorities. That realizaion would forever change his views on the world. Later, Erik met Charles Xavier at a psychaitric hospital while working as a volunteer orderly. The two formed a deep friendship.

Magneto has mastered his power over magnetic fields and uses it to ensure that humans will not win the war against mutants. Only two things can redirect his attention: His friend Xavier, and any danger to the mutants who follow him. He and Xavier have often found themselves on opposite sides of battlefield, but the danger to their fellow mutants has brought them together.

Magneto can use his power over magnetic fields to affect any quantity of metal. He can throw large objects, immobilize a person, and even fly. As one of the most powerful mutants in the world, he can be dangerous opponent and a great ally.
