Final Fantasy 8 kind of took a step away from the real "fantasy" feel--I
still loved it! It's my favorite FF. I've played and beaten ff6,7,8,and 9. So
I haven't played FF10 yet...=D But I'm looking forward to it. In my opinion, ff8
is the most interesting in the series. Here's all my thoughts...
The Story
The only thing I can say is---WOW. Well...Maybe I can say a little more. ^_^ The
story of Final Fantasy 8 is
about a man (squall leonhart) that is just trying to get himself to come back
to reality and get close to other
people...and the woman (rinoa heartilly) trying to help him get there. It's really
strong and emmotional. I PROMISE
YOU IF YOU BUY THIS GAME YOU WILL CRY!!!! (haha) Well, I did anyways. The category
it would fall into would probably
have to be romance or drama. If you hate that stuff...um...It's not ALL LIKE THAT!!
It's a really funny game...Probably
Irvine, Selphie, and Zell bring home that part. Rinoa and Squall are the romance
part...hehe...I Promise you will love
ff8's story-line--Beautiful and dramaticly very sad. That's all I have to say
about the story...I wasn't too sure of what to say...
Story: 9/10
Graphics
The graphics were absolutely AMAZING!! They are extremely close to the graphics
of FF10 (ff10 wins). There was just soo much
detail in every video, evertime a video comes on, you get glued to the screen
and when it goes off...You're left to sit there
and be tortured until another one comes on. Heehee! How else could I describe
them...? Unbelievable!! Awesome!! If you liked
FF7's graphics--O.O--then you'll die over FF8's
Graphics: 10/10
Characters
The characters are definately my favorite thing about FF8. It wasnt just the boring
story about going in to save the world.
The characters each had their own lives and their own pov's. Squall's feelings
about when he was a kid, Rinoa and her feelings
for Squall, Selphie's amazing attitude, Irvine's billion of failed attemps to
win Selphie's heart, Laguna's feelings between
him,Raine,Ellone, and Squall, the rival between Squall and Seifer, etc. With all
these things going on in the game, it made
it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to put down!! People can relate to FF8 fully and completely,
and that's what I love about it so much.
However...I Think squaresoft got too into the characters' lives with each other.
I mean, Selphie doesn't talk to Rinoa once
I dont think. I mean...aren't they friends!? :( And, Quistis never talks to Rinoa
or Selphie. They just seem to talk to
certain people...they're all good friends tho. Even though I'm giving ff8 a 9/10
for characters, they were 100% completely
my favorite thing about it. I just wish they would let them all talk to each other.
Characters: 9/10
Music
FF8 has the most beautiful music in any FF I've ever played. It's very impressive
and makes you listen to it non-stop...listening to it now actually...lol.
The music is just too beautiful for words. I mean...yeah...There's that one song
"Blue Fields"...It's a little cooky sounding, but hey! It's unique!!
...erz...ehfz...You just have to hear it for yerself!
Music: 10/10
Ending
I basically think the ending is everybody's favorite thing about ff8. I loved
it more than any ff, and anime, and movie, any game...well...You get the point.
I think the ending is at the very very least 10 minutes long. The game may take
a little while to defeat...But I could never even try to say it wasn't worth it
all. That's what I LOVE about Squaresoft sooo much...hehehe...They reward you...
Ending: 10/10
Overall: 9.6/10

Favorite Male Character: Laguna [i dunno why...he's ky00t!!]
Least Favorite Female Character: Quistis [snore...snore...]
Least Favorite Male Character: Ward [he just dont talk.]
Favorite Character In Battle: Selphie! [i got her up so high, she'd hit 9999 everytime!]
Least Favorite Character In Battle: Rinoa? [only cuz i didnt spend time to get
her up good.]
Also Try: Final Fantasy IX!! [or 10, i havent played it yet. ^^]
